• Citizenship & Character: Must be a Sri Lankan citizen of good character.
• Age Boundaries: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Educational Qualifications: Hold a recognized B.Sc. (Nursing) degree from a UGC-recognized state/foreign university, a university established under a Sri Lankan Act of Parliament, or an institution recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978.
• Council Registration: Must be registered with the Sri Lanka Nursing Council by the date of the interview.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.

Service Agreement & Financial Terms

• Application Fee Payment: Deposit the non-refundable LKR 1,000.00 fee to Bank of Ceylon (Taprobane Branch) Account No. 7041318 under “Health Secretary – Exam Fee Collection” and attach the original receipt firmly to the application.
• Training Allowance: Trainees receive the monthly allowance specified for 3rd-year nursing students during the 6-month adaptation period.
• Compulsory Service Bond: Appointees must sign a compulsory 5-year service agreement and bond to serve at assigned public or provincial hospitals. Premature resignation requires full reimbursement of allowances, training costs, and bond damages.
