The Ministry of Education has officially released the transfer orders for the Annual and Compulsory National School Teacher Transfer 2025 These orders, covering all mediums across 31 specific subjects, are available for viewing starting today, March 17, 2026.
Key Highlights for Teachers and Principals
According to the circular issued by the Additional Secretary (Teacher Establishments), teachers can now access their transfer details via the official online portal.
- Online Access: Teachers can view their transfer orders by logging into nstt.moe.gov.lk using the “Login as a teacher” option.
- Previous Orders: If a teacher was issued a previous transfer order that has not yet been implemented, the new 2025 annual transfer order will supersede and invalidate the previous one.
- Subject Scope: The orders apply to a wide range of subjects, including various Religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism), Aesthetic subjects, Languages (Sinhala, Tamil, English), Home Economics, Political Science, and Technical subjects.
Appeals Process and Deadlines
Teachers who are dissatisfied with their transfer decisions may submit an appeal to the Annual Transfer Review Committee. The process must be completed through the following steps:
- Online Submission: Appeals must be filed online via nstt.moe.gov.lk between March 17, 2026, and March 31, 2026.
- Hard Copy Submission: A printed copy of the online appeal, along with relevant supporting documents, must be handed over to the Principal of the school where the teacher currently receives their salary on or before April 1, 2026.
- Principal’s Responsibility: Principals must enter their recommendations online by April 1, 2026. The physical documents must then be delivered to the Teacher Transfer Branch of the Ministry by April 6, 2026, either by hand (Principal/Deputy Principal) or via registered post.
