The prestigious Award Ceremony of the National Diploma in Teaching – 2025 commenced today (29th July) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), under the academic leadership of the National Institute of Education (NIE).
Spanning three days—29th, 30th, and 31st July 2025, the ceremony honors the academic achievements of 4,313 newly qualified teachers, including venerable monks, nuns, reverend clergy, and sisters, who successfully completed the National Diploma in Teaching during the 2020–2022 academic years across 31 courses of study at 19 National Colleges of Education (NCoEs).
The event is graced by Professor Manjula Vithanapathirana, Director General of NIE, who will present the certificates to the graduates. The ceremony highlights the nation’s commitment to professional teacher education and the role of NCoEs in shaping competent educators for the future of Sri Lanka.
