The School of Floriculture and Landscape Gardening, under the Department of National Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya, has announced the commencement of applications for the National Diploma in Floriculture and Landscape Gardening Technology (NVQ Level 5). The program is set to begin in August 2025, offering Sri Lankan males and females a comprehensive one-year course combining theoretical knowledge and practical training, followed by a six-month industrial training program.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- NVQ Level 4 in Landscaping Technician or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Three simple passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination (Bio Science, Physical Science, or Technology) in one sitting, along with a credit pass in English at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
Age Requirement: 18–35 years
Medium of Instruction: English
Course Structure and Fees
- Duration: 1 year (full-time theory and practical) + 6 months of industrial training (OJT).
- Course Fee: Rs. 29,500 (including 18% VAT).
- Application Fee: Rs. 500 (non-refundable).
