The Automobile Engineering Training Institute (AETI), operating under the National Apprentice & Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), has announced the recruitment of apprentices for the year 2026. Sri Lankan youth aged between 16 and 25 are invited to apply for full-time courses in various automobile engineering disciplines.
Courses Offered
The institute offers five specialized courses with varying durations and fees:
- Automobile Technician (3 years, Rs. 200,000)
- Automobile Electrician (3 years, Rs. 200,000)
- Machinist/CNC (3 years, Rs. 170,000)
- Automobile A/C Technician (2 years, Rs. 70,000)
- Automobile Tinker (1.5 years, Rs. 30,000)
Applicants must meet specific educational qualifications, such as passing the G.C.E. O/L examination for certain courses or completing Grade 8 for others. A limited number of evening course slots will also be available at a 50% higher fee.
Certification
Successful apprentices will receive a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 certificate from the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, along with AETI certification, enhancing their employability in the automotive industry.
