The long wait for thousands of students across Sri Lanka is finally coming to an end. The Department of Examinations has officially announced that the GCE A/L 2025 results are scheduled to be released tomorrow (March 31) or the day after tomorrow (April 01, 2026).
Latest Update: Commissioner General Confirms Readiness
The Commissioner General of Examinations, Indika Kumari Liyanage, confirmed today that all necessary procedures and technical preparations for the results release are in the final stages.
Due to disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions (Cyclone Ditwah) late last year, the examination was held in two phases, concluding in January 2026. Despite these challenges, the Department has worked tirelessly to ensure results are released before the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

How to Check GCE A/L 2025 Results Online
Once the results are officially uploaded to the server, students can access them using the following steps:
- Visit the Official Portals: Go to www.doenets.lk or results.exams.gov.lk.
- Select Examination: Choose “G.C.E. (A/L) Examination” from the dropdown menu.
- Enter Index Number: Carefully type your 2025/2026 index number.
- Submit & View: Click on the ‘Submit’ button to view and download your result sheet.
Checking Results via SMS
You can also get your results sent directly to your phone. Use the following format:
EXAMS [Space] Index_Number and send to 1911 (Applicable for all networks).
Important Information for Students
- Z-Score: University entrance will be determined by the Z-Score, which will be released alongside the subject grades.
- Re-Correction: If you are not satisfied with your results, the Department will open applications for re-scrutiny shortly after the results are out.
- Stay Vigilant: Beware of “leaked” result links on social media. Only use the official government websites mentioned above to ensure your data is secure and accurate.
