The Department of Examinations has scheduled the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam 2026 for August 9, 2026. All applications must be submitted online only through the official portal.
Key Deadlines & Eligibility
- Application Deadline: April 30, 2026.
- Candidate Criteria: Students must be in Grade 5 at a government or recognized school and born before January 31, 2017.
- Bursary Qualification: To receive financial aid, the annual family income must be Rs. 180,000 or less. Income from the “Aswesuma” program is excluded from this calculation.
Instructions for Principals
- Unique ID: Principals must generate an 8-digit Unique Identity Number for each student using the school’s 4 or 5-digit username plus a serial number.
- Data Verification: After uploading details, a PDF must be printed for parents to sign and verify all information, including birth dates and income.
- Special Needs: Specific provisions and centers are available for students with visual or hearing impairments
