According to the announcement, the estimated cost, including tuition and other relevant fees, is approximately USD 60 per annum per student at a government medical college in Bangladesh.
Application Process and Deadline
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications, along with the necessary hard-copy documents, to the High Commission of Bangladesh in Colombo no later than April 18, 2025. Detailed admission criteria and the application form are available through the High Commission and the Ministry of Education.
Important Advisory for Applicants
The Ministry has emphasized that students aspiring to practice medicine or dentistry in Sri Lanka must ensure their chosen medical or dental college is recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC), as mandated by the Medical Ordinance. Applicants are strongly advised to verify the registration status of the respective Bangladeshi institutions with the SLMC prior to applying. The Ministry has clarified that it will not be responsible for ascertaining the recognition or registration status of foreign medical or dental schools.
A Golden Opportunity for Aspiring Doctors and Dentists
This program presents a unique chance for Sri Lankan students to access quality medical and dental education at a fraction of the cost typically associated with such degrees.
