The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka has announced an open competitive examination for the recruitment of Assistant Secretary/Assistant Registrar and Assistant Accountant/Assistant Bursar/Assistant Internal Auditor positions within the university system. Applications will be accepted online starting from the Monday following the publication of this gazette notification, with the deadline set for June 20, 2025.

- Application Fee: Rs. 1,200 (non-refundable).
Eligibility Criteria:
- General Qualifications:
- Sri Lankan citizenship.
- Excellent moral character and sound physical/mental health.
- Assistant Secretary/Assistant Registrar:
- Bachelor’s degree (First or Second Class) OR a Bachelor’s degree with a postgraduate qualification in Administration/Management.
- Age limit: 22–30 years (born between June 20, 1995, and June 20, 2003).
- Assistant Accountant/Assistant Bursar/Assistant Internal Auditor:
- Final II pass from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka OR a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR HNDA with two years of relevant experience.
- Same age limit as above.
Selection Process:
- Written Examination:
- For Assistant Secretary/Registrar: General Intelligence, Management Competencies, and English (100 marks each; pass mark 40).
- For Accountant/Bursar roles: General Intelligence, English, and Accounting & Finance (100 marks each; pass mark 40).
- Structured Interview:
- Weightage: 75% (written exam) + 25% (interview).
- Interview assesses qualifications, experience, and skills.
Important Notes:
- Medium of examination: Sinhala, Tamil, or English (candidates must choose one).
- No changes to examination medium or refunds for fees.
Salary and Benefits:
- Monthly scale: Rs. 85,305–122,565 (with increments).
