Education Ministry Expands Suraksha Student Insurance Scheme: Key Amendments Announced
අධ්යාපන, උසස් අධ්යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්යාපන අමාත්යාංශය විසින් අංක 29/2024 (II) දරන චක්රලේඛය මඟින් “සුරක්ෂා” සිසු රක්ෂණාවරණයේ ප්රතිලාභ සහ ආවරණ ක්ෂේත්ර පුළුල් කර ඇත. අමාත්යාංශ ලේකම් නාලක කළුවැව මහතාගේ අත්සනින් නිකුත් කර ඇති මෙම සංශෝධන 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 01 දින සිට ක්රියාත්මක වන අතර, සියලුම රජයේ, රජයේ අනුමත පෞද්ගලික, පිරිවෙන් සහ ආධාර ලබන විශේෂ පාසල් සිසුන්ට අදාළ වේ.
கல்வி, உயர்கல்வி மற்றும் தொழிற்கல்வி அமைச்சினால் வெளியிடப்பட்ட 29/2024 (II) ஆம் இலக்க சுற்றறிக்கையின் ஊடாக “சுரக்ஷா” மாணவர் காப்புறுதித் திட்டத்தின் நன்மைகள் விரிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் நாலக களுவேவவினால் கையொப்பமிடப்பட்ட இத்திருத்தங்கள் 2026 செப்டம்பர் 01 ஆம் திகதி முதல் நடைமுறைக்கு வருவதுடன், அரச, அரச அங்கீகாரம் பெற்ற தனியார், பிரிவெனா மற்றும் உதவிபெறும் விசேட பாடசாலை மாணவர்களுக்கும் இது பொருந்தும்.
- Medical Devices & Scoliosis Braces: Coverage now officially includes costs for Scoliosis Braces prescribed by a specialist Western medical practitioner (DAMS) or an Ayurvedic physician (BAMS).
- Hearing Accessories & Devices: The scheme now covers repair and routine servicing charges for hearing accessories and related assistive units (excluding battery replacement costs).
- Critical & Chronic Illness Expansions: Financial insurance support is expanded for Crohn’s disease / Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and chronic inflammatory arthritis.
- Cancer Treatments & Surgeries: Explicitly covers cancer therapies, chemotherapies, radiotherapy, related diagnostic evaluations, and major accident-related orthopedic surgeries involving hip, shoulder, and knee joint replacements performed under general anesthesia.
