The Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital has announced the recruitment of student nurses for a three-year training program at the National School of Nursing in Kandana.
The hospital is inviting applications specifically from male citizens of Sri Lanka to join the permanent cadre of the hospital upon successful completion of the training.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, candidates must meet specific educational and personal requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- GCE A/L: A minimum of three (03) passes in Bio Science, Physical Science (Mathematics Stream), or Agricultural Science stream in one sitting (without the General Test).
- GCE O/L: Passed in 06 subjects with 04 credit passes including Sinhala/Tamil, English, Mathematics, and Science in not more than two sittings.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of January 18, 2026.
- Physical & Personal:
- Gender: Male candidates only.
- Height: Not less than 5 feet.
- Marital Status: Must be unmarried and remain unmarried throughout the training period.
Allowances and Benefits
Selected applicants will undergo a three-year training period, during which they will receive a monthly allowance:
- 1st Year: Rs. 41,317 per month
- 2nd Year: Rs. 43,730 per month
- 3rd Year: Rs. 46,310 per month
Additional allowances approved by the Hospital Board will also be provided. Upon successful completion, candidates will be appointed as Permanent Nursing Officers (Grade A) at Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital.
