The Ministry of Education has issued Circular No. 41/2025 announcing the implementation of a shoe voucher scheme for selected school students and clergy students in the Western and Southern Provinces.
- Shoe vouchers will be provided to selected school students, Buddhist monks, and clergy students in approved institutions.
- The value of each voucher is Rs. 2,050, with a total allocation of Rs. 250 million.
- The programme will be implemented as a pilot project, prioritising shoes manufactured by local producers.
- Distribution of vouchers will be carried out through schools and relevant religious institutions, following guidelines issued by the Ministry.
- Monitoring and reporting will be handled by provincial and zonal education authorities.
