The Government of Romania, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has launched its annual scholarship program for foreign students for the academic year 2025/26. The program is open to non-EU students, providing opportunities to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees at accredited Romanian higher education institutions.
According to the announcement, undergraduate and Master’s programs under this scholarship will be conducted exclusively in the Romanian language, while PhD programs may be pursued in English or other foreign languages, depending on the specific doctoral school’s requirements.
The deadline for submitting applications is 12th March 2025.
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education of Sri Lanka has advised applicants that, while the scholarship is provided by Romania, it is the student’s responsibility to verify the recognition of their qualifications from relevant Sri Lankan agencies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), and Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC), where applicable.
