Admission Requirements for PGDE 2026/27
To apply for the OUSL PGDE, candidates must meet the following three mandatory requirements:
1. Academic Qualification
Applicants must have one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years duration, with a minimum of 90 SLQF credits (SLQF Level 5 or above) from a recognized university;
OR - An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the Open University of Sri Lanka.
2. Professional Requirement
Applicants must be employed in the field of education, such as:
- A teacher or principal of a recognized school
- An in-service advisor
- A teacher educator
- An officer in SLEAS or the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service
- A full-time member of the academic staff of a university, National College of Education, Technical College, Teacher Training College
- A lecturer or professional affiliated with the National Institute of Education or similar educational institutions.
3. Employment Condition
All entry requirements must be fulfilled at the time of applying.
