The Industrial Engineering Training Institute (IETI) in Moratuwa, a joint project between Sri Lanka and Germany under the National Apprentice & Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), has opened applications for its January 2026 batch of full-time, high-demand vocational courses.
These leading courses are meticulously designed to meet both local and foreign job market requirements, offering high-level theoretical knowledge and practical training. Upon completion, apprentices will be eligible for both the IETI full-time course certificate and the relevant National Vocational Qualification Certificate (NVQ Level 04).
Key Courses and Qualifications
The announcement features 17 professions with varying entry requirements, durations, and course fees. All courses are taught in the
Sinhala medium under a dual training system, providing basic institutional training followed by further training in government or recognised private factories.

Application Procedure and Benefits
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 12 and 35 years of age as of October 31, 2025.
- Deadline: Applications must be sent by registered post to the Director/Principal, Industrial Engineering Training Institute, No. 581, Galle Road, Katubedda, Moratuwa, before 31/10/2025.
- Application Fee: A fee of Rs. 1,000/- must be paid to the People’s Bank Katubedda branch, account number 313100153656984, and the receipt must be attached to the application.
- Submission: Applicants must indicate three courses of their choice in order of priority, based on their qualifications.
- Benefits: Benefits include hostel facilities (for male apprentices only), library facilities, affordable food, season tickets, and a monthly allowance of LKR 5,000/- for apprentices from low-income families.
