The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has announced that the holidays granted to all Muslim schools across the country have been extended until Sunday, 7th December 2025, due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions.
The initial holiday period, which began on 27th November 2025, has now been prolonged as authorities continue to assess the impact of the severe weather situation.
Major N.T. Nasumutheen, Director of Education for Muslim Schools Development, stated that the reopening date for all Muslim schools will be announced later, once conditions improve and it is deemed safe for students and staff to return.
