The Ministry of Education announced that all schools across the country will reopen on December 16, marking the beginning of the final phase of the third school term.

According to Nalaka Kaluwewe, Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, the reopening—initially scheduled for December 08—has been postponed due to the prevailing disaster situation in several parts of the country.

Authorities stated that the decision was taken to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and all education sector stakeholders, as many areas continue to experience adverse weather conditions and related disruptions.

The Ministry assured that further updates will be provided as necessary and urged parents and students to stay informed through official channels.
