Important Update for 2025 Applicants

The Ministry of Education has issued a notice extending the deadline for applications to join National Colleges of Education (NCoE) for the 2025 intake. The new closing date is midnight on 05 December 2025.

If you’re planning to apply — or know someone who is — this extension gives you a second chance to complete your application online before the final cut-off.

What Changed — What You Should Know

  • Original applications were invited based on G.C.E. (A/L) results of 2023 or 2024, with the first deadline set at 28 November 2025.
  • With the extension, all eligible candidates can now submit applications up to 05 December 2025, 12:00 midnight.
  • The application process remains fully online via the official portal.

What to Do If You Haven’t Applied Yet

If you haven’t submitted your application for NCoE 2025 — here are your next steps:

  1. Visit the official application portal: https://ncoe.moe.gov.lk/
  2. Carefully check that you satisfy the eligibility criteria (G.C.E. A/L in 2023 or 2024, other requirements).
  3. Fill out all required information correctly, upload supporting documents (results, NIC, etc.).
  4. Review your data — name, index number, subject stream, medium, contact details — before submitting.
  5. Submit before midnight 05 December 2025.
  6. Keep a printout or digital copy of your application confirmation for future reference.

Why This Extension Matters

  • Gives extra time for those who missed the original deadline or were waiting for their documents.
  • Reduces pressure and helps applicants avoid rushed mistakes.
  • Allows last-minute preparation — like having documents scanned, verifying A/L results, or reconfirming subject-stream eligibility.
  • Offers a second chance if technical issues occurred earlier.

Tips to Maximise Your Chances

  • Don’t wait till the last day — server traffic may rise near the deadline.
  • Double-check your personal, academic, and contact information carefully.
  • Ensure document scans are clear (PDF/JPEG) and correctly named.
  • Confirm that you selected the right course stream and medium (Sinhala / Tamil / English) as per your qualifications.
  • Save the confirmation receipt — you may need it later for selection steps.

Final Word

If you missed the first deadline, this extension till 05 December 2025 is your opportunity. Don’t delay — submit your application now and take a step closer to becoming a professionally trained teacher with NCoE in 2025.
