The advertised vacancies include positions ranging from Lecturer (Probationary) to Senior Professor (Chair) in several departments, as well as roles in the University Library.

A. Faculty of Applied Science

• Department of Physical Science: Senior Lecturer Gr I/II, Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ (Probationary) in Applied Mathematics & Computing. Preference is given to those with a B.Sc. Honors in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
• B.Sc. Degree Programme in Information Technology: Senior Lecturer Gr I/II, Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ (Probationary) in Information Technology.

B. Faculty of Business Studies

• Department of Project Management: Senior Lecturer Gr I/II, Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ (Probationary) in Project Management.
• Department of Finance & Accountancy: Senior Professor / Professor of Finance & Accountancy (Chair).
• Department of Business Economics: Senior Professor/Professor of Business Economics (Chair), and Senior Lecturer Gr I/II, Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ (Probationary) in Business Economics.

C. Faculty of Technological Studies

Application Details

How to Apply

1. All applicants must apply through the University of Vavuniya’s online application system or by scanning the provided QR Code.
2. A printed application, along with a paid Original Bank Slip for a deposit of Rs. 100/- (credited to Bank of Ceylon, Account No: 2364602 in favor of the Bursar, University of Vavuniya), certified copies of qualifications, and service certificates, must be sent by registered post.
3. The envelope should be addressed to the Deputy Registrar, Establishments, University of Vavuniya, Pambaimadu, with the post applied for marked on the top left-hand corner.
4. Applicants for more than one post must submit a separate application with a separate Bank Slip for each post.
5. Applicants from the University System, Government Departments, Corporations, and Statutory Boards must channel their applications through the Head of the respective Institutions.

Remuneration Highlights

Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary based on the UGC Commission Circular No.02/2025 (i).

• Senior Professor salary scale: Rs. 237,530/- to Rs. 295,830/- p.m. with an Academic Allowance of $126%+$Rs. 17,000/-.
• Lecturer (Probationary) / Assistant Librarian salary scale: Rs. 94,400/- to Rs. 118,400/- p.m. with an Academic Allowance of $91%+$Rs. 1,200/-.
• All posts receive a Cost of living allowance of Rs. 17,800/- p.m..
• A Research Allowance of 21% is paid based on research activities.

Other statutory benefits include Sabbatical leave entitlement (for Senior Lecturer Gr.II and above), membership in the Universities Provident Fund and Pension Scheme, Gratuity payments, Employees’ Trust Fund benefits, and Free Medical Services.
