The University of Kelaniya has announced vacancies for academic positions in the Faculty of Science, inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointments in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management.
According to the official notice, applications are being accepted for the following positions:
- Lecturer (Probationary)
- Lecturer (Unconfirmed)
- Senior Lecturer Grade II
- Senior Lecturer Grade I

Salary and Benefits
Successful candidates will receive salaries according to the University Grants Commission (UGC) salary scales:
- Lecturer (Probationary): Rs. 94,400 – 118,400 per month
- Lecturer (Unconfirmed): Rs. 121,340 – 136,040 per month
- Senior Lecturer Grade II: Rs. 136,040 – 171,320 per month
- Senior Lecturer Grade I: Rs. 160,520 – 187,820 per month
In addition to the basic salary, selected applicants will be entitled to academic allowances, cost-of-living allowances, and other approved benefits in accordance with prevailing government circulars.

Interested candidates can obtain prescribed application forms and further details from the Academic Establishments Division of the University of Kelaniya or download them from the university’s official website.
Completed applications, together with certified copies of relevant certificates, must be submitted on or before 25 June 2026. Applicants currently employed in government departments, corporations, statutory boards, UGC institutions, and other higher educational institutions are required to forward their applications through the heads of their respective institutions.
