The University Grants Commission has officially announced that applications for University Admission 2025/2026 will close today, 19 May 2026. Students who sat for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination 2025 are advised to complete and submit their applications before the deadline.
Applications are being accepted for undergraduate degree programmes offered by state universities across Sri Lanka.

Applicants should note that late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for university admission, candidates must:
- Obtain at least ‘S’ grades in all three approved subjects
- Achieve the results in one sitting
- Apply within a maximum of three (03) attempts
- Score at least 30% for the Common General Paper
Only candidates who fulfill all the above requirements will be eligible for university admission consideration.
