The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Griffith University (GU), Australia, has called for applications for the UGC–Griffith University Full PhD Scholarship Programme 2026, offering fully funded doctoral study opportunities for eligible Sri Lankan academics.
Under the programme, Griffith University will cover the full tuition fees for up to three years, subject to limits approved by the UGC. In addition, the UGC will provide a living stipend for three years, while Griffith University will offer up to six (06) International Postgraduate Research Scholarships valued at AUD 15,000 per annum. The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) must be borne by the selected candidates.
Eligibility
- Permanently appointed academic staff members of universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under the UGC
- Applicants must be eligible for paid study leave for higher studies
- Any field of study is accepted for PhD applications
