Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service Minute Amendment No. 05 Overview

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has officially issued Gazette Extraordinary No. 2507/02, dated September 21, 2026, introducing Amendment No. 05 to the Service Minute of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS). Published by order of the Public Service Commission and signed by Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewe, the amendment explicitly defines the specific criteria required for a degree to be recognized as a “Bachelor of Education Graduate” under Section 13.8 of the Service Minute.

Under this new amendment, individuals holding a Bachelor of Education degree from a university established under the Universities Act or degree-awarding institutions/universities established through special Acts of Parliament must satisfy four mandatory conditions.

The 4 Mandatory Criteria for B.Ed. Degree Recognition

• 1. Degree Duration & Format: The B.Ed. program must be a 4-year full-time, onsite (non-online) degree program.
• 2. Credit Load: The program requires the completion of a minimum of 120 credits.
• 3. Practical Teaching Practice: Graduates must complete a minimum of 10 weeks of practical teaching training at a government national school, provincial school, or government-approved private school under qualified supervision or a panel of supervisors.
• 4. Research Dissertation: Candidates must complete a research dissertation or report carrying a minimum of 06 credits within the degree program.

Note: All other particulars and conditions stipulated in the original Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service Minute (Gazette Extraordinary No. 1885/38 dated October 23, 2014) remain unchanged.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවා ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 05 වන සංශෝධනය – අධ්‍යාපනවේදී (B.Ed.) උපාධිධාරීන් සඳහා නව නිර්ණායක

අධ්‍යාපන, උසස් අධ්‍යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශය මගින් 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 21 දිනැති අංක 2507/02 දරන අතිවිශේෂ ගැසට් පත්‍රය නිකුත් කරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවා ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 05 වන සංශෝධනය ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කර ඇත. මේ අනුව, ගුරු සේවා ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 13.8 වගන්තිය යටතේ “අධ්‍යාපනවේදී උපාධිධාරියෙකු” ලෙස පිළිගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය කරුණු 04 ක් පැහැදිලි කර ඇත.

• පාඨමාලා කාලය: වසර 04 ක පූර්ණකාලීන, සෘජු දේශන (Onsite) පාඨමාලාවක් විය යුතුය.
• ක්‍රෙඩිට් ප්‍රමාණය: අවම වශයෙන් ක්‍රෙඩිට් (Credits) 120 ක් සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.
• ප්‍රායෝගික ගුරු පුහුණුව: රජයේ පාසලක හෝ පිළිගත් පෞද්ගලික පාසලක සති 10 ක අවම ප්‍රායෝගික ගුරු පුහුණුවක් ලබා තිබිය යුතුය.
• පර්යේෂණ නිබන්ධනය: අවම වශයෙන් ක්‍රෙඩිට් 06 ක අගයක් සහිත පර්යේෂණ නිබන්ධනයක් සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.

இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவைப் பிரமாணக் குறிப்பின் 05 ஆம் திருத்தம் – கல்விமானி (B.Ed.) பட்டதாரிகளுக்கான புதிய விதிகள்

கல்வி, உயர்கல்வி மற்றும் தொழிற்கல்வி அமைச்சினால் செப்டம்பர் 21, 2026 திகதியிட்ட 2507/02 ஆம் இலக்க அதிவிசேட வர்த்தமானி மூலம் இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவைப் பிரமாணக் குறிப்பின் 05 ஆம் திருத்தம் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன்படி “கல்விமானி பட்டதாரி” என ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படுவதற்கு பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட வேண்டிய 4 பிரதான நிபந்தனைகள் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளன.

• கற்கைக்காலம்: 4 வருட முழுநேர, நேரடி (Onsite) பட்டப்படிப்பாக இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
• கிரெடிட் அளவு: குறைந்தபட்சம் 120 கிரெடிட்களைக் (Credits) கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.
• கற்பித்தல் பயிற்சி: அரச அல்லது அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட தனியார் பாடசாலையில் குறைந்தபட்சம் 10 வார நடைமுறை கற்பித்தல் பயிற்சியை பூர்த்தி செய்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
• ஆராய்ச்சி ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரை: குறைந்தபட்சம் 06 கிரெடிட்களைக் கொண்ட ஆராய்ச்சி ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரையை சமர்ப்பித்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
