The Government of Sri Lanka has announced a revised salary structure for teachers and principals, The updated salary scales are as follows:
Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (GE 2 – 2025)
- Basic Salary: Rs. 66,880
- Incremental Structure:
- 10 increments of Rs. 1,490
- 7 increments of Rs. 2,400
- 20 increments of Rs. 2,940​
Sri Lanka Teachers’ Advisors Service (GE 3 – 2025)
- Basic Salary: Rs. 70,870
- Incremental Structure:
- 3 increments of Rs. 1,670
- 7 increments of Rs. 2,400
- 20 increments of Rs. 2,520​
Sri Lanka Principals’ Service (GE 4 – 2025)
- Basic Salary: Rs. 72,280
- Incremental Structure:
- 7 increments of Rs. 1,670
- 6 increments of Rs. 2,400
- 25 increments of Rs. 2,970​
These salaries will be implemented stepwise, with 30% of the net salary increase being provided in 2025, 65% in 2026, and the full revised salary by 2027
