Postgraduate Diploma in Child Protection and Rights (PGDCPR) 2026/2027 – University of Colombo

The Centre for the Study of Human Rights at the University of Colombo has invited applications for Postgraduate Diploma in Child Protection and Rights (PGDCPR) for the academic year 2026/2027.

This one-year programme is mapped to SLQF Level 08 and is uniquely designed to accommodate students in all three official languages: Sinhala, Tamil, and English. It offers a vital pathway for professionals, educators, and activists looking to specialize in the legal, social, and ethical frameworks governing child safety and welfare.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PGDCPR programme, applicants must meet one of the following primary academic/professional requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University of Colombo:
   • Including 30 credits in the relevant subject area; OR
   • With prior learning/work experience equivalent to 30 credits in the relevant subject area.
2. An educational/professional qualification in a relevant subject area equivalent to the above, alongside prior learning/work experience acceptable to the University of Colombo.
3. Completion of NVQ Level 7, as determined by the University of Colombo.

Additional Requirement: Applicants must possess a good knowledge of Sinhala, Tamil, or English (depending on their chosen medium) and must satisfactorily perform at a selection test and/or selection interview.
