The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka, announced that a total of 177588 candidates have qualified for university admission based on the results of the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination. This includes 149,964 school applicants and 27,624 private applicants, representing 64.73% of the 274,361 candidates who sat for the exam.
The 2024 GCE A/L results were released online this evening, March 26, 2025, and are accessible via the Department’s official website, www.doenets.lk. Candidates can check their results by entering their Index Number on the portal.

Candidates seeking re-scrutiny are required to submit their applications via www.doenets.lk, following the guidelines that will be published closer to the application period. A non-refundable fee will apply per subject, with details to be confirmed on the website.
Commissioner General of Examinations, Mr. Amith Jayasundara, congratulated the successful candidates and urged those applying for re-scrutiny to adhere to the specified deadlines. “We have ensured a transparent and efficient process for result verification and re-scrutiny. Candidates are advised to use only the official online portal for all related services,” he stated.
The Department emphasized that candidates should rely solely on official sources for information and avoid unauthorized platforms claiming to provide result-related services.
