The Official Languages Commission of Sri Lanka has invited applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens to fill vacancies for the posts of Language Officer and Language Promotion and Investigating Officer. A total of 10 vacancies are available, with 03 positions for Language Officers and 07 for Language Promotion and Investigating Officers.
Key Details of the Vacancies
1. Language Officer
- Educational Qualifications:
- A degree in Linguistics, Translation, Education, or Social Science from a recognized university, with proficiency in Sinhala, Tamil, or English.
- Salary Scale: Rs. 72,650–122,970 (JM 1-1-2025).
2. Language Promotion and Investigating Officer
- Basic Qualifications:
- A degree in Human Resources Management, Social Science, or Languages.
- Experience in administration, coordination, or investigations.
- Computer literacy is mandatory.
- Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
- Proficiency in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
- Knowledge in IT, Law, Journalism, Mass Media, Project Management, or Translation.
- Salary Scale: Rs. 62,310–111,160 (MA 5-2 2025).
General Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: 18–45 years (as of July 28, 2025).
- Citizenship: Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
- Health & Character: Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and possess excellent character.
- Probation Period: 03 years, with confirmation subject to performance and efficiency tests.
