The Ministry of Education has officially released the revised New Syllabus for SLTS EB Exam – Syllabus for the Efficiency Bar (EB) Examination of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS). The updated framework outlines the subject areas and content that candidates must study in preparation for the exam.
Structure of the Syllabus
The syllabus is divided into three main sections, each focusing on different aspects of the teaching profession and educational administration:
Part I: Teacher Service Knowledge
- Teachers’ Service Act and related regulations
- Professional ethics and responsibilities of teachers
- Procedures in educational administration
- School disciplinary processes
- School-related legal provisions
Part II: Administration & Planning
- Duties and responsibilities of principals and sectional heads
- Planning and preparing educational development programs
- Organizing co-curricular activities and student welfare
- School development methodologies
Part III: General Knowledge & Practical Skills
- Health and nutrition awareness
- Knowledge of current national and global educational trends
- Effective communication and leadership in schools
