The Open University of Sri Lanka has announced that applications are now open for the MEd in Special Needs Education (MEdSNE) Degree Programme for the academic year 2025-2026. This two-year program is designed for educators, practitioners, and professionals who wish to specialize in Special Needs Education.
In the first year of the program, successful candidates will be awarded the Master of Special Needs Education (MSNE) certificate. Those who complete the second year with a research component will be awarded the full MEdSNE degree.
MEd in Special Needs Education: Admission Requirements
To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- A pass in the Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs Education from The Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university
- A pass in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education from The Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university
- A pass in a Bachelor of Education Degree from The Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate
