The University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC) invites applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for multiple academic and administrative positions at the university and its affiliated university colleges.

Available Positions – At University of Vocational Technology:

1. Senior Lecturer (Grade II) / Lecturer (Probationary)
   Department: Quantity Surveying, Faculty of Industrial Technology
   Number of Vacancies: 01
   Subject Areas:
   • Measurement of building and civil engineering works
   • Construction economics and procurement
   • Project planning and commercial management
   Key Responsibilities:
   • Conduct lectures, practical sessions, and assessments
   • Research and curriculum development
   • Manage laboratories and short courses
   • Support student discipline and administrative duties
   Qualifications:
   • For Senior Lecturer: A Master’s with a research component or a Doctorate + 6 years of experience in teaching/professional/research/postgraduate study.
   • For Lecturer (Probationary): A specialized degree with at least Second Class Lower Division Honours + relevant experience or postgraduate qualification.
2. Technical Officer (Laboratory) – Engineering Technology (Mechanical)
   Number of Vacancies: 01
   Key Duties:
   • Support lab operations, assist students and maintain equipment
   • Prepare chemicals and materials for practicals
   • Help with procurement and inventory
   Qualifications:
   • External: 6 GCE O/L subjects including Sinhala/Tamil, English, Mathematics + required A/L performance.
   • Internal: 5 years of permanent service + NVQ Level 5 in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead administration in line with university policy and development plans
• Engage with the Board of Management and Board of Studies
• Oversee strategic planning, legal compliance, and academic coordination

Qualifications:

• A degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business Management or Chartered Professional Membership
  AND a Master’s in a related field
  AND one of the following:
  • University Senior Lecturer Grade I or higher
  • 10 years of senior managerial experience post-graduation
  • All-island service officer with 15 years of service including 3 years at Grade I or higher
