The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has announced a special program to commemorate International Mother Language Day 2026. While the official global day falls on February 21, the national celebratory event is scheduled for March 10, 2026.
To mark the occasion, the Ministry is organizing a series of national-level competitions for school students aimed at enhancing creativity in their mother tongues.
Competition Categories and Themes
The competitions will be held under the unified theme: “Humanity Shared through the Connection of Languages”. Students from both government and government-approved private schools are invited to participate in the following categories:
- Essay Writing: Open to students in Grades 10, 11, and 12/13. Essays must be between 450-500 words.
- Creative Video Production: Open to students in Grades 9 through 13. Videos must be a maximum of 3 minutes long, at least 720p quality, and include English subtitles.
- Art Competition: Open to students in Grades 6 through 9. Entries should be submitted on A3 size paper using any preferred medium.
