Colombo: The Cabinet of Ministers has reached a key decision regarding the implementation timelines of the new National Education Reforms.
According to the latest Cabinet decision:
- Grade 1 Reforms: The educational reforms designated for Grade 1 students will proceed as planned and will be implemented commencing this year.
- Grade 6 Reforms: The reforms targeting Grade 6, which were originally scheduled to be implemented this year, have been postponed. These reforms are now scheduled to come into effect starting in 2027.
