The Ministry of Education has initiated a program to provide Rs. 6000 Voucher Program to students across the country for the purchase of essential school supplies. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that students have the necessary resources for their education.
The program, which was launched recently, will distribute vouchers to students in selected schools nationwide. These vouchers can be redeemed at registered vendors for school books and other essential supplies.
Calling for Vendor Participation:
The Ministry is also calling on interested vendors to register for the program. Business owners can register as distributors by downloading the ” உதவிக்தொகை” (meaning “assistance”) Android application from the Google Play Store.
Registration Details for Vendors:
The registration period for vendors begins on January 28, 2025. Prospective vendors will need to provide the following information through the mobile application:
- Business Details:
- Business Name
- Business Address
- District
- Divisional Secretariat Division
- Grama Niladhari Division
- Business Registration Certificate or a sworn affidavit certified by a Justice of the Peace confirming the business operation.
- Bank Details:
- Bank Name
- Branch
- Account Holder Name
- Account Number
- A clear photograph of the bank account details section.
- Contact Details:
- Mobile phone number (mandatory for registration and communication)
