2026 G.C.E. O/L Examination NIC Registration Issue Resolved
The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka has announced a solution for private candidates who have not yet received their National Identity Card (NIC) when registering for the 2026 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.

2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சைக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்கும் தனியார் விண்ணப்பதாரர்களுக்கு தேசிய அடையாள அட்டை இன்னும் கிடைக்கவில்லை என்றால், பெற்றோர் அல்லது சட்டபூர்வ பாதுகாவலரின் NIC இலக்கத்தை பயன்படுத்தி பதிவு செய்ய முடியும் என பரீட்சைகள் திணைக்களம் அறிவித்துள்ளது.
Candidates must complete and submit their applications before the deadline. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
📌 Important Information
🪪 Private Applicants
Private candidates who have not received their NIC can register using the NIC number of their parent or legal guardian.
🏫 School Applicants
Special registration instructions have already been sent to school principals for school-based candidates.
⚠️ Important Notice
Not having an NIC at present is not a barrier for registration. Candidates are encouraged to submit their applications early and follow the official instructions provided in the examination notice.
No applications will be accepted after 23 July 2026 for any reason.
