Diploma in Special Education NIE 2026 Programme Structure
The National Institute of Education (NIE), Sri Lanka, through its Department of Inclusive Education, has officially opened applications for the Diploma in Special Education NIE 2026. Formulated under Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) Level 3, this professional program builds core pedagogical competencies to identify and support school children with specialized learning requirements, including physical, visual, auditory, and intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and general learning difficulties.
The course spans one full academic year and is scheduled on weekends. Academic lectures will be conducted online, while mandatory practical modules will take place directly at the NIE premises in Maharagama and designated special education schools. Candidates will be selected based on a written test, an interview, or a combined assessment.

ජාතික අධ්යාපන ආයතනයේ විශේෂ අධ්යාපන ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාව 2026
මහරගම ජාතික අධ්යාපන ආයතනයේ (NIE) අන්තර්කරණ අධ්යාපන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මඟින් මෙහෙයවනු ලබන විශේෂ අධ්යාපන ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාව (2026) සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවීම ආරම්භ කර තිබේ. ශ්රී ලංකා සුදුසුකම් රාමුවේ (SLQF) 03 වන මට්ටමට අයත් මෙම පාඨමාලාව දෘශ්ය, ශ්රව්ය, බුද්ධිමය, ශාරීරික දුබලතා මෙන්ම ඕටිසම් සහ විවිධ ඉගෙනුම් දුෂ්කරතා සහිත දරුවන් හඳුනාගැනීම සහ ඔවුනට ඉගැන්වීම් සිදු කිරීම සඳහා වන වෘත්තීය නිපුණතා සංවර්ධනය අරමුණු කරයි.
වසරක කාලසීමාවක් සහිත දේශන සති අන්තයේ මාර්ගගතව (Online) පැවැත්වෙන අතර ප්රායෝගික සැසි ජාතික අධ්යාපන ආයතන පරිශ්රයේදී සහ තෝරාගත් විශේෂ පාසල්වලදී පැවැත්වේ. අයදුම්කරුවන් 2026 ඔක්තෝබර් 30 වන දිනට වයස අවුරුදු 55 නොඉක්මවිය යුතු අතර උසස් පෙළ (A/L) විභාගය සමත්ව තිබීම මෙන්ම ගුරු, විදුහල්පති, අධ්යාපන පරිපාලන හෝ විශේෂ අධ්යාපන ක්ෂේත්රයේ සේවය කරන නිලධාරියෙකු වීම අනිවාර්ය වේ. පාඨමාලා ගාස්තුව රුපියල් 50,000ක් වන අතර එය සමාන වාරික දෙකකින් ගෙවිය හැක. අයදුම්පත් භාරගැනීම 2026 ඔක්තෝබර් 30 දිනෙන් අවසන් වේ.

இலங்கை தேசிய கல்வி நிறுவகத்தின் (NIE) உள்ளடக்கல் கல்வித் திணைக்களத்தினால் நடாத்தப்படும் விசேட கல்வி டிப்ளோமா கற்கைநெறி – 2026 இற்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. SLQF மட்டம் 3 இன் கீழ் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இக்கற்கைநெறி பார்வை, கேட்டல், அறிவுசார் குறைபாடுகள், உடற்குறைபாடுகள், ஒட்டிசம் மற்றும் ஏனைய கற்றல் குறைபாடுகள் கொண்ட மாணவர்களைக் கண்டறிந்து வழிகாட்டத் தேவையான கற்பித்தல் திறன்களை மேம்படுத்துவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
1 வருட கால வார இறுதி கற்கைநெறியான இதன் விரிவுரைகள் இணையவழியாகவும், செய்முறைப் பயிற்சிகள் தேசிய கல்வி நிறுவகம் மற்றும் தெரிவுசெய்யப்பட்ட விசேட பாடசாலைகளிலும் நேரடியாக நடாத்தப்படும். விண்ணப்பதாரர்கள் 2026 ஒக்டோபர் 30 ஆம் திகதியன்று 55 வயதிற்குட்பட்டவராகவும், க.பொ.த. உயர்தரப் பரීட்சையில் சித்தியடைந்திருப்பதுடன் ஆசிரியர், அதிபர், கல்வி நிர்வாக சேவை அல்லது விசேட கல்வி நிறுவனங்களில் பணியாற்றுபவராகவும் இருத்தல் வேண்டும். கற்கைநெறிக் கட்டணம் 50,000 ரூபாவாகும் (இரு சம தவணைகளில் செலுத்தலாம்). விண்ணப்ப முடிவுத் திகதி 2026 ஒக்டோபர் 30 ஆகும்.
Eligibility Criteria
General Qualifications:
- Age limit: Must be under 55 years of age as of October 30, 2026.
- Academic qualification: Passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination.
Professional Category Requirements (Must fulfill at least one):
- A teacher in a government school, government-approved private school, or Pirivena.
- A teacher educator or academic staff member in a National College of Education (NCoE) or Teacher Training College.
- An officer belonging to the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service (SLPS) or Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS).
- An officer in the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators’ Service (SLTES) or a Teacher Advisor.
- An academic officer of the National Institute of Education (NIE) or a staff member serving in a recognized institution or school dedicated to children with special education needs.
