The University of Kelaniya has announced the opening of applications for the Diploma in Sinhala for Speakers of Tamil 2026 – September Intake. The program is designed to support Tamil-speaking students and professionals who wish to improve their Sinhala language proficiency for academic, professional, and practical communication purposes.
This diploma program aims to strengthen bilingual communication skills in Sri Lanka while creating better opportunities in education, employment, and public service sectors.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who have passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination or possess an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply for the diploma program.
Course Duration and Lecture Mode
- Duration: 1 Year
- Mode of Lectures: Hybrid (Online & Physical)
The hybrid learning model allows students from different parts of Sri Lanka to conveniently participate in both online and onsite learning sessions.

Applications will be accepted from:
17 May 2026 to 31 July 2026

The total course fee is Rs. 77,000, payable in three equal installments.
