Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (DICT) 2026/2027 – Eastern University

The Centre for External Degrees and Extension Courses (CEDEC) at Eastern University, Sri Lanka, has officially called for applications for the Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (DICT) – 2026/2027 Intake (Batch 3).

This one-year weekend programme is specifically designed for school leavers, government employees, and private sector workers who wish to upgrade their ICT knowledge and practical skills without disrupting their weekday commitments.

• Total Course Fee: Rs. 80,000 (Payable in two installments: Rs. 60,000 + Rs. 20,000)

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. A minimum of three (03) passes in the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination in any stream; OR
2. Any other equivalent qualification acceptable to the Senate upon the recommendation of the Board of Studies.

What You Will Learn

The curriculum balances theory with hands-on practical training across two semesters.

Semester 1 covers Fundamentals of ICT, Professional Office Applications, Programming I, Database Management Systems, Multimedia & Graphics Design, Professional Web Designing, Computer Hardware & Networking, and Software Engineering.

Semester 2 focuses on advanced skills including Content Management Systems (CMS), Programming II, Dynamic Web Application Development, Professional Network Technologies, Mobile App Development, Server Administration, and a final-year Project.
