All universities, higher education institutes, and vocational training institutions operating under the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education have suspended academic activities until 8 December 2025.
The decision was announced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, citing the ongoing adverse weather conditions and the need to ensure the safety of students, academic staff, and non-academic employees.
According to the Ministry, the temporary suspension applies to all in-person lectures, practical sessions, examinations, and training programs conducted by state universities, higher education institutes, and vocational training centres countrywide.
The Ministry further stated that updates regarding the resumption of academic work and any adjustments to academic calendars will be notified in due course.
