2025 National School Teacher Transfer Appeal Decisions for 30 Subjects

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has announced that the 2025 National School Teacher Transfer Appeal Decisions will be published online starting May 15, 2026.

In a circular addressed to all National School Principals, Additional Secretary (Teacher Institutions) A.J.S.S. Edirisuriya—signing on behalf of the Ministry’s Secretary—instructed school heads to inform their teaching staff about the release of these decisions.

The Ministry noted that formal transfer order letters will be issued in the near future. Principals have been directed to ensure that the affected teachers are released from their current duties on the officially stipulated dates.

According to the official release, the appeal decisions currently made available on the online system apply to the following 30 subject categories:

  1. Communication & Media Studies (O/L, A/L)
  2. Home Science
  3. Home Economics
  4. Geography (A/L)
  5. Buddhism (A/L)
  6. History (A/L)
  7. Buddhist Civilization
  8. Buddhism
  9. Catholicism
  10. Christianity
  11. Islam
  12. Saivaneri
  13. Hinduism (A/L)
  14. Christianity (A/L)
  15. Tamil (A/L)
  16. Arabic Literature & Appreciation
  17. Design & Technology
  18. Design & Construction Technology
  19. Design & Mechanical Technology
  20. Design, Electrical & Electronic Technology
  21. Practical Technical Skills
  22. Entrepreneurship Studies
  23. Aquatic Bioresources Technology
  24. Greek & Roman Civilization
  25. Food Technology
  26. Civil Technology
  27. Electrical & Electronic Technology
  28. Agro Technology
  29. Political Science
  30. Foreign Languages – Japanese, French, German, Korean, Hindi, Chinese (O/L, A/L)

Teachers can access their transfer appeal results by visiting the Ministry of Education’s official online platform. Copies of the directive have also been forwarded to the Secretary of the Public Service Commission for further administrative action.
