Colombo, Nov. 27 – The Department of Examinations has announced that the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination 2025, scheduled to be held today (27) and tomorrow (28), has been postponed due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions across several parts of the country.
According to the department, heavy rains, flooding, and transportation difficulties have made it unsafe for students to reach examination centres. The decision was taken in consultation with disaster management authorities to ensure the safety of candidates, examination staff, and exam materials.
The new dates for the postponed examination papers will be announced shortly, the department added. Students are advised to stay updated through the official Examination Department website and media announcements.
Authorities also urge parents and students to prioritize safety and avoid unnecessary travel until weather conditions improve.
