A large-scale recruitment drive has been announced, with several government ministries and departments seeking to fill a significant number of vacancies. The recruitment will bolster staff numbers in key sectors including defense, public administration, and health.
Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence is recruiting a total of 12,433 personnel. This includes 4,415 officials for the Sri Lanka Army and 5,200 officials for the Sri Lanka Navy.
Ministry of Health and Media
The Ministry of Health and Media is set to hire 11,889 new employees. The roles include 1,408 medical officers, 3,147 nurses, and 1,000 health assistants.
Ministry of Public Administration and Provinces
This ministry is seeking to fill 12,433 positions, with roles available in several critical services:
- 297 in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service
- 499 in the Sri Lanka Accountant Service
- 139 in the Sri Lanka Planning Service
- 4,505 in the MSO Services
Postal Department
The Postal Department has announced 1,000 new positions for postal assistants, 1,000 for accounts officers, and 600 for postal service officers.
Other Departments and Institutions
Additional recruitment drives have been announced for several other government bodies:
- Judicial Services: 33 new officers
- National Water Supply and Drainage Board: 95 positions for pipe fitters and 100 for senior engineering assistants
- Electricity Board: 105 positions for engineers
- Department of Archaeology: 108 positions
- Department of Nationalization: 150 positions
- Department of Agriculture: 260 new assistant directors
- Sri Lanka Standards Institution: 1,791 new employees
- Sri Lanka Industrial Technology Institute: 150 new employees
- Valuation Department: 184 new employees, including assistant valuers
