The University Grants Commission (UGC) has officially announced internal vacancies for senior-level positions within the university system. The available positions include:
- Senior Assistant Secretary / Senior Assistant Registrar
- Senior Assistant Accountant / Senior Assistant Bursar / Senior Assistant Internal Auditor
These positions are open exclusively to internal candidates currently serving in the UGC or any Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes under the purview of the Commission, in accordance with Commission Circular No. 05/2025 dated June 17, 2025.
Key Qualifications:
Candidates must be confirmed in their current posts and meet the required service duration and educational/professional qualifications, which vary by category. Specific requirements include relevant degrees, professional certifications such as ICASL, HNDA, and postgraduate qualifications in areas like Management, Law, and Public Administration.
Salary & Benefits:
The positions offer a consolidated salary scale of Rs. 113,690 – 156,410 (U-EX 2 (II)) along with all government-approved allowances applicable within the university system.
Application Process:
- Online applications open on June 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. and close on July 15, 2025, at 4:15 p.m.
- A two-part application must be completed. Part I is to be filled online and printed; Part II is to be completed through the respective institution’s HR or Academic Establishments Division.
- A scanned copy of the complete application (Part I and II with annexures) must be uploaded and the hard copy submitted to the UGC no later than July 25, 2025.
Important Notes:
- Only applicants who score 40% or above at the structured interview will be eligible for selection.
- All positions are transferable, and candidates should be prepared to serve in any assigned institution during their probationary period.
