The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has officially approved the Annual Transfers for the Sri Lanka Teacher Educator Service (SLTES) for the year 2026.
According to an official circular issued by the Ministry, these transfers are scheduled to take effect from July 1, 2026.
Key Highlights for Officers and Institutions
- Implementation Date: All transferred officers must be released from their current stations to assume duties at their new stations on July 1, 2026. Heads of institutions must also ensure that incoming officers are able to assume duties smoothly on this date.
- Transfer Criteria: The transfers have been executed in accordance with the annual transfer procedures outlined in Ministry of Education Circular No. 35/2025, dated November 20, 2025.
- Mandatory Transfers: Officers who have served more than 8 years at a single station have been included in these transfers based on established policy, even if they did not personally apply for a transfer.
Appeal Process and Deadlines
Officers who are dissatisfied with their assigned transfers have the right to submit an appeal. This process is governed by Section 256 of Chapter XVIII of the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2310/29 issued by the Public Service Commission.
- How to Apply: Appellants must fill out the standard appeal application form attached to the Ministry’s notice.
- Submission Deadline: The completed appeal must reach the Ministry on or before June 19, 2026.
- Email Submission: A scanned copy of the appeal application must also be emailed to sltesrecruitemant@gmail.com.
- Important Note: Any appeals received after the strict deadline of June 19, 2026, will not be considered.
