Assistant Superintendent of Customs (Grade II) – 2026 (Open Exam)

Applications for the post of Assistant Superintendent of Customs (Grade II) are now being accepted by the Sri Lanka Customs Department through an open competitive examination.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

1. Basic Requirements

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka of excellent character.
• Age: Between 21 and 35 years as of June 08, 2026 (Born between 1991.06.08 and 2005.06.08).
• Note: Members of the clergy are not eligible to apply.

2. Physical Requirements

• Male: Minimum height of 5′ 5″ and a chest measurement of at least 33 inches (expanded).
• Female: Minimum height of 5′ 3″.

3. Educational Qualifications

• A Degree from a university recognized by the UGC (minimum 3-year duration).
• English Language Proficiency:
  • A Credit Pass (C) or higher in English at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination.
  • OR a Simple Pass (S) or higher in English at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination.

📝 Examination Procedure

The recruitment exam consists of two papers (available in Sinhala, Tamil, or English):

1. Aptitude (1 Hour – 100 Marks): 50 multiple-choice and short-answer questions testing language proficiency and logic.
2. English Language (1.5 Hours – 100 Marks): Testing reading, writing, comprehension, and communication.

Selection Note: Candidates must score at least 50% in each paper to pass. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, where bonus marks (up to 5) may be awarded for National or International sports achievements (Under-17 or higher).

💰 Salary & Service Conditions

• Salary Scale: Rs. 58,660 – 10×1,190 – 11×1,360 – 15×1,670 – 110,570 (Salary Category MN-5 per Circular 10/2025).
• Service: This is a permanent post with a 3-year probation period.
• Nature of Work: Officers must be physically fit to serve in any part of the island and are required to work day and night shifts.
