The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils & Local Government has announced several vacancies for the Rural Infrastructure Development Project in Emerging Region (RIDEP). This project, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aims to improve rural roads, irrigation, and water supply in the Northern, Eastern, North Central, and Uva Provinces.
Applications are now open for various positions across the Project Management Unit (PMU) and Project Implementation Units (PIUs).
Available Positions and Locations
The project is seeking qualified professionals for the following roles:
- Engineer cum Compliance Officer (01 Post): Located in Badulla.
- Project Accountant (01 Post): Located in Badulla.
- Technical Officer – Roads (04 Posts): Based in Jaffna, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura, and Badulla.
- Technical Officer – Irrigation (04 Posts): Based in Jaffna, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura, and Badulla.
- Accounts Assistant (01 Post): Located in Badulla.
- Driver (06 Posts): Roles available in Colombo, Jaffna, Trincomalee, and Badulla.
- Office Assistant (01 Post): Located in Jaffna.
Salary and Benefits
Salaries are competitive, with higher-level roles such as the Engineer and Project Accountant offering between Rs. 240,000.00 and Rs. 260,000.00. Technical Officers can expect between Rs. 120,000.00 and Rs. 135,000.00.
In addition to the base salary:
- Allowances: Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) and other standard allowances apply.
- Contributions: The employer provides a 12% EPF and 3% ETF contribution, while the employee contributes 8% to EPF.
Eligibility and Application
All positions are on a contract basis for an initial one-year term, with the possibility of annual extensions based on performance and project needs.
