The National Institute of Education (NIE) is now accepting applications for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) 2025/2026, a SLQF Level 08 program tailored for educators and professionals seeking career advancement. This 18-month part-time course, offered in Sinhala and Tamil, closes applications on March 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
(i) Be a Sri Lankan citizen.
(ii) Possess a degree (minimum three years) or SLQF Level 7 certificate from a recognized university or higher education institution.
(iii) Be in permanent/continuous service in one of the following roles:

• Government/Government-aided schools or religious educational institutions (with government approval).
• Principal, Teacher, Teacher Advisor, Officers from SLTES and SLEAS.
• Academic member of a recognized university or higher education institution.
