The National Institute of Education (NIE) has officially released a new publication titled “Identifying Children Entering Grade 01: A Happy Start to Primary School” (Palamuwana Shreniyata Ethulath Wana Daruwan Haduna Geneema).

Published by the Department of Early Childhood Development and Primary Education under the NIE, this guide is designed to assist teachers and parents in understanding the readiness and needs of children stepping into formal education for the first time. The initiative aims to ensure that every child experiences a joyful and supportive transition into the primary school environment.
