The government introduced a new WhatsApp service to support vehicle owners facing difficulties in the National Fuel Pass Registration
According to the Ministry of Digital Economy, individuals experiencing issues during the registration process can now seek assistance by sending their vehicle number (typed text only, not as an image) to 076 000 1919 via WhatsApp.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit clear images of the following documents:
- National Identity Card (NIC), Driving License, or Passport
- Valid Revenue License
- Vehicle Registration Certificate (CR)
Officials emphasized that the registration will only be processed for the registered owner of the vehicle. Additionally, the NIC number provided must match the details in the vehicle registration certificate (CR).
Data Protection Assured
The ministry further assured that all personal data collected will be handled in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022. Information will be used strictly for validation purposes, and once the verification process is completed, all personal data—except the vehicle number—will be securely removed from the system.
Online Complaint Portal
In addition to the WhatsApp service, vehicle owners can also submit registration-related complaints through the official GIC portal:

This initiative aims to streamline the registration process and ensure uninterrupted access to fuel for vehicle owners amid ongoing challenges.
