Master of Sociology (One-Year) 2025 – University of Sri Jayewardenepura

The Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura has called for applications for the Master of Sociology (One-Year) Degree Programme – 9th Intake (2025). The closing date for applications is 30th September 2025.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from a recognized university, or
• A Bachelor’s Degree in another field with Sociology as a subject, or
• Any other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Senate of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Programme Schedule

The programme will be conducted on weekends (8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.) at the University premises.
Students who successfully complete the programme may also become eligible to pursue MPhil or PhD programmes in Sociology.

Course Fee

The total fee for the programme is Rs. 160,000.00, payable in two installments. The university has informed that fees once paid are non-refundable.
