The Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura has called for applications for the Master of Sociology (One-Year) Degree Programme – 9th Intake (2025). The closing date for applications is 30th September 2025.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from a recognized university, or
- A Bachelor’s Degree in another field with Sociology as a subject, or
- Any other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Senate of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Programme Schedule
The programme will be conducted on weekends (8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.) at the University premises.
Students who successfully complete the programme may also become eligible to pursue MPhil or PhD programmes in Sociology.
Course Fee
The total fee for the programme is Rs. 160,000.00, payable in two installments. The university has informed that fees once paid are non-refundable.
Application Procedure
- Applications should be submitted online via www.graduate.sjp.ac.lk.
- The application fee is Rs. 3,000.00, payable to Bank of Ceylon, Gangodawila Branch, Account No: 053010006830.
- A scanned copy of the bank slip must be uploaded along with the completed online application.
- The printed application form, certified copies of relevant certificates, and the original payment receipt must be sent by registered post to:
