The Department of Prisons, under the Ministry of Justice and National Integration, has called for applications from eligible Sri Lankan citizens for the Open Competitive Examination to recruit Jailor – Class II (Male/Female) and Rehabilitation Officer – Class II (Male/Female) for the year 2025.
A total of 75 vacancies will be filled:
- Jailor – Class II (Male): 55
- Jailor – Class II (Female): 07
- Rehabilitation Officer – Class II (Male): 10
- Rehabilitation Officer – Class II (Female): 03
The written examination will be held in November 2025 in major cities across the island, including Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Badulla, and Ratnapura. The exam will consist of two papers: Intelligence Test and Numerical Skills.
Candidates who qualify will undergo a physical fitness/endurance test and a structured interview to assess suitability. Only applicants who meet all requirements, including height, educational qualifications (minimum O/L and A/L passes), and age (18–26 years), will be considered.
Selected recruits will receive a monthly salary starting at Rs. 55,410/- with permanent and pensionable service benefits. Appointees must serve a probationary period of three years and fulfill language proficiency and efficiency bar examinations as stipulated.
